While half of my weekend was spent working at Target, the other was spent doing things that I actually like doing. Ha, I'm kidding (kinda). Friday is somewhat of a blur. I would have been heading to Orlando for Jennifer's bachelorette party if it hadn't been for getting sick again and having car trouble. I had tons of housework to catch up on throughout the day, but I was able to sneak away for a couple of hours to hang out with Lauren. Shopping, lunch at Evos and pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks. After I got home, I went out and did a little more shopping with my mama. I scored a few new blouses plus an awesome gray utility jacket that I couldn't pass up.
I was only scheduled to work Saturday evening, which left most of my morning/afternoon free. So whenever Lauren shot me a text to tell me she was lounging by the pool with the kids, I jumped on the opportunity to soak up some sun as well. She was even nice enough to make lunch for me and whipped up one stellar cappuccino (with the help of her dad's Nespresso machine) too. Work wasn't too shabby either. It was really busy and I had to close, but I don't think people have gotten the memo that we are open until 11:00 on Saturdays now. Once 10:00 rolled around, it was like a ghost town up in there. Not that I'm complaining because it allowed me extra time to make sure my areas were nice and neat. I was still ready for a glass of wine whenever I got home.
I wasn't scheduled to work on Sunday, but I was asked to come in and help close that night too. I didn't mind since I knew I'd have the majority of the day to relax and spend time with my family, which I did. I slept in, stayed in my pajamas most of the morning and went out to eat at Smokey Bones for lunch. When I went to leave for work, our car wouldn't start (hello, dead battery). Thankfully, I was able to borrow my mom's car. Those 4 hours were a breeze. It was even slower than the night before, which made for a very peaceful shift.
It turned out to be a pretty good weekend. What were you guys up to?
