Hey, guys! My name is Jessica, but you can call me Jess. I'm a simple gal living life in the sunshine state with my manly man husband, G. Cat-mama to a lovable and vivacious little fella named Sammie. I'm a firm believer of Jesus + the gospel. Old soul, young heart. Tough, but rather fragile at times. I'm an optimist, although I don't ignore reality. Few people grasp or appreciate my sense of humor (their loss) and I have a habit of making awkward situations even more awkward, but I've learned to accept it. I live with a deeply-rooted sense of passion and wonder (hence the blog name). I'm striving to cultivate grit, grace and genuineness no matter what this life throws at me. I have a knack for graphic design and I'm currently pursuing an A.S. degree in digital media at SPC. Coffee has always been my drug of choice, writing keeps me sane, and I use acoustic / instrumental music as a form of therapy. I consider myself an ambivert, therefore I require an even balance of social time and time to myself in order to thrive well. I've never really been a girly girl, but I'm not a tomboy either. I'm simply stuck in the middle and I like it here. I love encouraging others when the opportunity arises.

Some of my favorites include ― butterscotch + cinnamon lattes, any type of visual design, herbal teas, sunny days spent outdoors, dystopian literature, writing, lacroix sparkling water, springtime, the 1920s-40s + 80s, psychology, firearms, mexican food, acrylic painting, mimosas, road trips, mysteries, the seaside, photography, sangria, astronomy, sushi, autumn, bright colors, typography, science fiction, stringed instruments, little caf├ęs, thunderstorms, thrift shops, web design + development, art, well-made films and most things Disney.

I met my best friend in December of 2008. In May of 2010, I had the honor of becoming his wife. Marriage, although trying at times, has been a beautiful adventure (to say the least). Garrett (referred to as G here on the blog) has taught me so much over the years and I am very thankful to have him by my side as we face the trials of this life together. I love this guy something fierce. The bond that we share is something I will cherish forever You can read all about our story and if you're interested in the proposal + wedding, I shared about that too.
